artist statement

Water calligraphy.
it has been in my mind ever since
I experienced the touching feat firsthand
in a park of China many years ago.
It response to the form and emptiness of the Buddhist.
Everything from absence to presence, and
from presence to absence.
Form is emptiness.
Emptiness is form.

Tong Yang-Tze is ingenuity.
Water calligraphy is nature.
Water calligraphy.
On and off
it has been in my mind
ever since I experienced the touching feat firsthand
in a park of China many years ago.
It is the most meaningful response to
the form and emptiness of the Buddhist.
Everything from absence to presence,
and from presence to absence.
Form itself is emptiness.
Emptiness itself is form.
While we are reading the ingenuity of Tong’s calligraphy quietly,
we could also enjoy the experience of water calligraphy,
to think about the ultimate meaning of life in nature.
