he came to international attention with his “redwhiteblue” series,
which he presented at the 51st venice biennale in 2005 representing hong kong.
he was awarded the hong kong contemporary art awards 2012 and
the hong kong arts development awards 2011 – award for best artist (visual arts) in 2012.
his “lanwei” series was collected by M+ museum, hong kong in 2013.

視覺溝通人。
1960年生於香港。
曾創作廣為人知的《紅白藍》系列，並以此系列於2005年代表香港參展第51屆威尼斯雙年展。
2012年，獲頒發『香港當代藝術奬』2012及2011香港藝術發展奬的年度最佳藝術家奬（視覺藝術）。
2013年，其《爛尾》攝影系列被香港M+博物館所收藏。

artist statement

It is not fashion & trend. The collection is based on the handwriting of
a unique writer Wang Wenxing (王文興）who committed his whole life recreating Chinese writing in his own style.
He wrote his fiction “Backed Against the Sea” in 25 years, his passion & philosophy is the story
behind the collection.

The collection is based on the handwriting of a literature writer Wang Wenxing from Taiwan who is
a very alternative & unique person committed his whole life on recreating Chinese writing in his own style.
He wrote his second fiction “Backed Against the Sea”(背海的人） in 25 years, finish 35 words a day…
his passion & dedication philosophy is the story & message behind the collection.
